Boat Clearance – Popular Lake St. Clair Bridges

Boat Clearance – Popular Lake St. Clair Bridges

Watch your biminis, antennas, … and heads!  There is much less clearance on some popular Lake St. Clair waterways with the current high water.

1.  This past week, 57″ was measured at the Snooks Hwy. Bridge on Harsen’s Island compared to 64″ last year and a foot lower than 2017.  The Snooks Hwy. Bridge runs next to Brown’s Bar and connects the Middle Channel with Little Muscamoot Bay.

2.  Another popular bridge connects the South Channel to Muscamoot Bay – the Maybury Hwy. where Walker’s Marina is located.  Watch your biminis and antennas at this one!

3.  Traveling around to Harrison Twp., the bridge connecting Belle Maer Harbor to the mainland looks good, but still watch your antennas.

4.  Two other boat clearance on bridges are just about impossible to go under unless you have a dinghy or waverunner and can lie fairly flat – and you don’t suffer from claustrophobia!

And… through Facebook friend Bill Jones, City of Mt. Clemens reported the Dickinson Street Bridge near downtown Mt. Clemens has about 10′ of clearance.
