DNR Launch Ramp Status – Lake St. Clair
2024 Season: DNR Boat Ramps Status around Lake St. Clair, North & Middle Channels (Muscamoot Bay). All the popular Macomb & St. Clair County ramps are open (with the exception of 9 Mile see below) – and the Clinton River Cut Off Boating Access Site in Macomb County near Crocker & 16 Mile Road is open and all new!
ALSO Important to note! The 9 Mile Boat Launch in St. Clair Shores was closed for 2024 season for area infrastructure improvements. It is planned to be closed for 2025, however, as of November 18, 2024 we did hear construction is ahead of schedule and the ramp may be open much sooner – stay tuned!
The good news with water levels down, the Middle Channel/Muscamoot Snooks Access on Harsen’s Island across from Brown’s Bar and the Decker’s DNR Access on the North Channel in Clay Township are both high and dry.

Although mostly underwater the last two season’s, the Snooks Access was still being utilized due to it close proximity to Little Muscamoot Bay. The Decker’s site had been completely shut down the past two seasons due to high water and erosion of the parking lot.
