First Machines Out on Lake St. Clair Ice Today!

The first 4-wheeler ATV’s are now out on the Lake St. Clair ice.  Several local fishermen were out early this morning setting up their shanties on Lake St. Clair’s Bouvier Bay, using their ATV’s to pull out their rigs.

Ice appears to be completely covering all of Lake St. Clair’s Anchor Bay now.  We did witness a freighter heading up the Detroit River Wednesday, so the shipping lane on Lake St. Clair must still be open for local traffic yet.

It’s been an extremely cold week, and there is more to come this week!  We would expect to start seeing the snowmobilers fairly soon….. so catch all those fish by the Fair Haven DNR Launch ramp soon before you get pushed out by the trucks & snowmobile trailers!
