Early Start to Ice Fishing Season on Lake St. Clair
My rule of thumb for a “normal” winter is that ice fishing usually starts the week between Christmas and New Year’s. Good news! It is well underway on Bouvier Bay and many canals around the lake. Ice fishing is something that is on most fishing enthusiasts to-do list because it’s such an awesome way to catch fish. You don’t get the same kind of rush with any other type of fishing technique so why don’t you finally stop putting it off and give it a go this year! The conditions are perfect for it and, as I said, the season is well underway. If you’ve never done it before then it’s always best to go with someone experienced and go onto a site like CatchandFillet.com to find out more about the best ice reels and fish finders on the market today. If you go ice fishing, you want to make it a sucessful day otherwise you’ll just be sitting on the ice, freeing cold for no reason! Here are a few aerial photos taken by our friend Peter Dugdale yesterday of the popular ice fishing areas around Lake St. Clair.
