Did Lake St. Clair Raft Off 2025 Beat the 2018 Guinness World Record

Did Lake St. Clair Raft Off 2025 Beat the 2018 Guinness World Record

Was Lake St. Clair’s Raft Off 2025 bigger than the year we all tried to break the 2018 Guinness Book of World Records with the longest continuous line?  Maybe! I measured aerial photos on hand with Google Maps and both are very close, each at about 1.5 miles long!

Coin toss! Now I know how far we walked anyway!

How many people come to the Raft Off?  Hard to guess people on boats, however, 2010 was the Guinness Record of 1,651 boats on Lake Cumberland, KY.  Lake St. Clair’s 2018 attempt fell short but that year and 2025 were very close … certainly with the boats along the periphery Lake St. Clair may have beat the record with 2,000 boats.

When was the last time Raft Off was in “Big” Muscamoot Bay versus Little Muscamoot?  Looking through old photos, 2014 was the last time we were in the Big Moot. 2015 Raft Off was held in Little Muscamoot.

Whether you are into this type of event or not, it really is a spectacle for the eyes to witness the annual Raft Off Lake St. Clair in person.  Watching social media you’ll see comments of lovers and haters (and not sure why people have to express they don’t like it, especially if they were not there.)

So for those who missed it, or secretly want to see some behind the scenes of the 1000s of interesting people having a great time together – of ALL ages by the way (but a NO KIDS EVENT) – here are some highlights of our one mile walk “through the gauntlet”.
