We are located on M29 - right on the St. Clair River!  The Historical Society building is "on the river" and the Maritime Museum is just across the street.

The Algonac Ship to Shore Gift Shop in our Maritime Museum could be the best kept secret in Algonac!  We have expanded the gift shop and have so much to offer.

The Center is not open every day in the winter - however we are very happy to come in by appointment so you may enjoy the museum - or check Facebook and our website for regular seasonal Algonac-Clay Society | Museum | Gift Shop summer hours.

The Algonac-Clay Township Historical Society was formed in 1991 by combining the former Algonac Boating and Historical group and the Clay Township Historical Society. It is a volunteer based non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the community and maritime history of the area, share historical stories at special events, and to provide educational opportunities for all segments of the community.

The Society also supports research requests regarding the community and its maritime heritage. It also acts as a hospitality port for visiting tall ships, boat clubs, and also supports the ship cam for city of Algonac.
