Anywhere on Lake St. Clair is a quiet place to be IN THE MORNING for a kayak / canoe / paddleboard ride.  Weekend boat traffic is fairly heavy on the "main" part of the lake in the afternoons, especially on a weekend.

The map below highlights launch areas which you may kayak or canoe anytime of the day.  Winds and its direction is a factor always as you should realize with this sport.

LOCAL VACATION Rentals near Kayaking / Canoeing around Lake St. Clair can be found at https://www.stclairrental.info/  Several vacation rentals have kayaks and paddleboards on hand too!

Harsens Island is a scenic and quiet place to launch.  Weekends in the afternoon however, can be VERY busy at the Snooks Launch Ramp across from Brown's Bar.  Launching at Snooks DNR Ramp is quite easy.  The waterway cut will take you into the Middle Channel and heading south into Little Muscamoot Bay.  This Snooks channel sometimes is heavily traveled by boats as people are traveling from the Middle Channel to go swim in Little Muscamoot Bay.  It is wide enough however for you to paddle close to shore.  Once you get into Little Muscamoot, you have lots of space to paddle.

Snooks Launch on Middle Channel Drive above is just across the street from Brown's Bar on Harsens Island.

The South Channel launch ramp on Harsens is not a long paddle for you to enter into Little Muscamoot Bay.

****You can find more photos of all the local launch ramps here at Lake St. Clair Guide DNR Launch Ramps
