St. Clair River Closed for Boat Races

Due to the annual St. Clair Offshore Races, the St. Clair River in front of the city limits will be closed to freighter and boating traffic Sunday August 1, 2021 from 11am – 7pm according to St. Clair County Marine Sheriff.

During the last races 2019, in between the race “heats” we did see the Marine Sheriff allowing groups of boats to pass through, however significant delays may happen.  Not sure if they will do this again so best to avoid the area until racing is over.

Practice will take place on Saturday July 31 so delays may be possible.

THE GOOD NEWS!  There are live bands scheduled from Friday through Sunday night, along with viewing of the boats, practice, and racing!  Click here for full event details!
