WHERE TO PARK & have walking access for ice fishing Lake St. Clair?
Bouvier Bay on Northern Lake St. Clair is usually the first large area to freeze first. Fishermen may park at:
1. Fair Haven DNR Launch Ramp Parking Lot & you may drive onto the Ice there as well. Do not park in the restaurant parking lot there, you will be towed. There is also an open field next to the Cove Cafe / Griffin Restaurant. When this freezes you may park there as well.

2. The Raft Bar – Fair Haven on M29 in the right hand corner of this image above (when attendant is there will be a small fee FYI).
3. Patrons of On the Rocks Smoke House – walking distance from image below – may park on their large lot also if you come in for a meal or cocktails. They have a ramp for you to ride your ATV/snowmobile onto the ice.
Downtown New Baltimore has a great pier to walk out and see the ice – don’t forget Winterfest each year too in February hosted by the Lions Club with the annual Ice Plunge for Charity! While in town you can warm up at the Tashmoo Distilling, Fin’s, On the Bay, The Blind Owl
Great “middle lake” – Clinton River, Harrison Township – to see the ice at Bumpers Landing!
Great “south end Lake St. Clair” restaurants to see the ice and get a good hot meal and beer include Zef’s Dockside and theHOOK in St. Clair Shores.
And the St. Clair River is ALSO a beautiful view to see the ice! Worthy of a ride to Marine City & the City of St. Clair. Late spring is especially beautiful as the ice begins breaking up on Lake Huron and starts its annual trek down the river in huge chunks. Great to take the kids and see this spectacle!
City of St. Clair – The Voyageur is right on the river.
Marine City restaurants right on the St. Clair River’s “Water Street” include Gar’s Lounge.
